Fabula, Musée Carnavalet

In the gardens of the Carnavalet History of Paris Museum, discover Fabula, a pop-up restaurant and summer terrace ideal for dining under the Paris sky. In the kitchen is chef Thibaut Spiwack, straight from the famous television series Top Chef.

  1. Fabula

In the magnificent courtyard of the Carnavalet Museum, which traces the extensive history of Paris, tables and chairs have been set up especially for the “Fabula” pop-up restaurant for the entire 2022 summer season. Its name is taken from the Latin word for “history”, referencing the museum that accommodates it in this secluded garden in the heart of Paris.

A hidden restaurant

The menu, which is both extensive and responsible, was devised by chef Thibaut Spiwack based on four delicious categories: vegetables, fish, meat and, to finish with, sweet dishes. The chef, famous from the Top Chef television series, has received a Michelin Guide green star for his cooking, which always offers local, seasonal produce with short supply chains.
Gnocchi made with Paris ricotta, burnt aubergine, cumin crackers and rocket pesto, Ceviche of meagre, leche de tigre with peach and tarragon, raw courgette, or Normandy beef gravlax with cognac, mussels with tarragon and cider, broccoli purée with horseradish… The menu will delight you!
Where the bar is concerned, the best French bartender, Nico de Soto, gets out his shaker to make you the cocktail of your choice from a list of eight signature cocktails with or without alcohol.

For a Parisian summer evening, the fabulous courtyard of the Carnavalet Museum offers an enchanting setting and a timeless evening. Surrounded by immaculately trimmed box and subdued lighting, this lovely spot is ideal for a romantic night out or an evening with friends. In a laid-back celebratory atmosphere, enjoy a gourmet meal for a unique experience!

During the day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., No More Penguins, the well-known caterer, provides a self-service snacking offer, for a quick meal or gourmet interlude after your museum visit.
