Description

From 15 April to 16 August 2026, the Louis Vuitton Foundation invites you to immerse yourself in the fascinating work of Alexander Calder, the undisputed master of kinetic art. Entitled ‘Calder: Rêver en équilibre’, this exhibition, one of the most important to date devoted to Alexander Calder, highlights the artist's unique ability to transform metal and wire into light, mobile and poetic works. Through an immersive journey, you will discover more than 300 pieces, including iconic mobiles, monumental stabiles and preparatory drawings, revealing the richness of an artist who revolutionised modern sculpture.

An immersive scenography for a unique experience

The Louis Vuitton Foundation has created a bold scenography, where the works interact with Frank Gehry's futuristic architecture. The mobiles, suspended in space, seem to float and dance with the air currents, creating an unforgettable sensory experience. The exhibition also explores the links between Calder and the avant-garde artists of the 20th century, from Miró to Mondrian, while highlighting his influence on subsequent generations. This is a rare opportunity to see major works, some of which have never been shown in France, and to rediscover the artist in a new light.

Art is revealed in the exhibitions of Paris Region.
