In the footsteps of marathon runners
Since its creation, the marathon has been one of the most popular Olympic events. The Paris 2024 itinerary shines a spotlight on History and the women of the French Revolution. After a grand tour of inner Paris passing the main sights, the itinerary heads gradually out of the city to the Palace of Versailles, passing on the way various monuments that will delight culture buffs, fans of beautiful places and anyone who enjoys a pleasant stroll.
On the cycling route
Bikes are optional. This itinerary follows the path that the cyclists will take during the Olympic Games. It starts within Paris, follows the river Seine and passes close to the Luxembourg Garden, then heads out to the Palace of Versailles before making a U-turn in the Chevreuse Valley. This route is a feast for the eyes as well as the mind and tastebuds.
The Seine runs through it
The real star of Paris 2024 will be the river Seine. The Games will kick off here with the opening ceremony and the river will be the link between a number of competitions held in the Paris Region. Check out the iconic sites along its banks and all that’s in store for spectators from July 2024.
