Description

For 6 years now, in the run-up to Christmas and the festive season, curious, giant, colourful animals have been invading the gardens of Thoiry Castle. This year, the Thoiry Wild Lights Festival is back with a show just as enchanting as its predecessors, with a new theme: Asia.

The programme includes a 1.5km-long light and music trail for families, couples and friends to follow. Every year, new lanterns are added to the park's collection, making the Thoiry Lumières sauvages festival the biggest in the Paris Region. In 2023, more than 2,500 creations take place throughout the garden, with 500 new lanterns and the illumination of the largest labyrinth in France..

A magical stroll through the castle gardens

For more than 4 months, the "Lumières Sauvages " will fill the gardens and grounds of château de Thoiry with imposing, magnificently created illuminated lanterns. On a 1.5-kilometre circuit, set off on a journey to discover Asia and its flora and fauna. A Buddha and an 8-metre-high temple and a dragon in the middle of the illuminated labyrinth await you. Mongolian steppe, yurts, colourful costumed characters, giant lotuses and mischievous animals… Lumières Sauvages promises an enchanting and poetic journey that's sure to warm hearts as the winter chill begins to make itself felt.

In order to respect the animals and their rhythm of life, the Lumières Sauvages tour takes place away from the zoo. Make the most of your visit to discover the zoo and safari animals before embarking on your illuminated escapade as soon as night falls. And for an even more complete experience, reserve your den and spend a night watching the bears and wolves evolve right next to you. It's magical!

Discover the light trails that will enchant your festive season in the Paris Region.
