Visit of Royaumont Abbey
Come and visit Royaumont Abbey.
A royal abbey and a Gothic masterpiece. Standing amidst ponds and forests, Royaumont Abbey is located in the Oise-Pays de France Regional Nature Park in Val d'Oise.
Its exceptional history began with Saint Louis, who founded this Cistercian monastery at 14 years old. Also exceptional is the abbey's architecture, which is organised around its magnificent cloister. A park, romantic ruins and three remarkable gardens round out the scene. The Royaumont Foundation opens the abbey's doors to visitors 365 days a year.
A special tour has been designed, offering a unique look at the monument and gardens left undisturbed during the lockdown. The private part of the cloister, which is usually closed, is now accessible. The former chapter house is now open to all visitors. The 6.5-hectare park, as well as the number and size of the rooms, allow for an even distribution of visitors throughout the site.
