Description

The beauty of Palais de la Cité in Paris

In the middle of the 13th century, Saint Louis built a chapel (called Sainte Chapelle) at the heart of his residence in Paris, Palais de la Cité. Designed as a monumental reliquary, it initially housed the crown of thorns worn by Christ.

A masterpiece of Rayonnant Gothic architecture, the sumptuous decoration of the chapel and the translucent beauty of its stained glass windows already stunned its founder’s contemporaries, who thought that they had entered one of the most beautiful places in heaven.

Since restored, it is now your turn to discover this unique collection of 15 stained glass windows that form a veritable wall of light!

Not to be missed!

Ticket for the Conciergerie and Saint-Chapelle is included in the Paris Region Pass - Experience.
