Muséum is offering you the chance to explore the riches of the mineral world. Treasures of the Earth is on display in a renovated part of the Mineralogy and Geology Gallery and presents a selection of the most remarkable pieces from Muséum’s prestigious mineral collections.
Here, visitors can discover how minerals are formed, see them in a variety of shapes and colours and learn all about amazing phenomena like fluorescence, to be admired from both an aesthetic and an educational point of view.
An exceptionally diverse range of six hundred minerals are presented in this exhibition - minerals from five different continents, from meteorites to rough and cut stones, historical gems and even mineral sculptures - arranged around a central display of twenty giant crystals. These precious specimens tell us the story of the Earth and the solar system.
