Exhibition ticket - Photo Stories
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs presents an exhibition of its collections of photographs, revealed for the first time to the public. This exceptional heritage fund, with over 350,000 phototypes, brings together photographs of fashion, architecture, landscape and decoration, but also advertising, from the 1840s to the most recent creations.
"Photo Stories" features 400 original prints and negatives to track a century and a half of photographic stories immortalised by great names such as Eugène Atget, Laure Albin-Guillot, Dora Kallmus (better known as Madame d'Ora), Man Ray, Cecil Beaton, Robert Doisneau, Bettina Rheims, David Seidner and so on.
The chronological and thematic exhibition reveals the diversity of photograph uses — political, economic, legal, artistic or documentary — and highlights the crossovers, intentional and unexpected, with decorative arts. It offers a new look at the leading role that the Musée des Arts Décoratifs played in the recognition of photography on the French art scene.
