Before the Fountains Night Show begins, enjoy a look around the Royal Apartments and the Hall of Mirrors in the company of Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien and baroque dancers from the Compagnie l’Eventail (duration: 40 minutes).
Royal Serenade in the Hall of Mirrors
Audiences bear witness to extravagant 17th century regal court dances within the walls of the Palace of Versailles, including dressing ceremonies, the ritual of the court ballroom, the charivari of farcical molièresque doctors, religious chants and of course, the sound of traditional pastoral pipes. Performers from the Compagnie de Danse l’Eventail and the Amarillis ensemble bring historical characters to life in front of your very eyes…

La Compagnie de Danse l’Eventail
Founded in 1985 by Marie-Geneviève Massé, a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, and still under her leadership today, the Compagnie de Danse l’Eventail has been based in Sablé-sur-Sarthe since 2001. Performing all over the globe and recognised as the primary reference in the field of baroque dance, this association has developed two complementary initiatives that combine memories with innovation: the first in the spirit of the 17th and 18th centuries, and the other through the creation of original shows based on contemporary themes and concepts.
The Fountains Night Show
Shortly after the Royal Serenade, lighting and staging artists take over the gardens, bathing them in light and filling them with extraordinary installations, including breathtaking aquatic effects in the Bassin du Miroir, criss-crossing lasers through the Colonnade, the spectacular demise of Enceladus and a surreal yet elegant journey through the Groves of la Girandole and Dauphin. A magical evening to look forward to!
Groupe F’s rows of enormous flames bursting from the Tapis Vert and a fireworks display over the Grand Canal bring this enchanting evening to a close. The finale is further enhanced by the masterpieces of French baroque music as performed by Reinhard Goebel and his Musica Antiqua Köln Orchestra.
