Description

In the Opéra neighbourhood, close to Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, this little theatre allows you to explore the capital’s hidden parts. Created in 1990, the theatre presents a film-tribute dedicated to the City of Light, and for a great price.

Immersion

While the décor and the main staircase are reminiscent of theatres of the Belle-Epoque, the screening room is decked out with more modern equipment, including a 12-meter square panoramic screen, which will surely impress young spectators. Once comfortably settled in one of the theatre’s 130 armchairs, you can watch the documentary in one of six languages (English, German, Dutch, Chinese, Italian or Spanish), via the multi-lingual audio system.

Two millennia of history

While it is a rich source of precious commentary, the 50-minute film by Laurent Menec is also fun and educational. The images by photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand will transport you to dizzying heights atop monuments, taking you to places that are often inaccessible to the public, like the lanterns on the Invalides dome. Other scenes will take you plunging into the hidden depths of the capital, such as to the Opéra Garnier’s underground tunnels. With this film, you’ll discover all of Paris’ secrets!

With your head full of these incredible images, make a stop at the boutique to take home your own book about Paris. Nearby, the bar area welcomes you in a cosy setting. Shows and concerts are also organised on evenings and weekends.
