Marché de Fontainebleau
Three times a week, more than 100 traders gather on the 4,500 m2 Place de la République to sell a varied range of top-quality food and other products. The diversity and quality of the produce makes this one of the most reputed markets in the Seine-et-Marne department.
You can find rare spices, truffles and exotic products, as well as butcher’s, delicatessen, cheese and fruit and vegetable stalls, among others.
The Marché de Fontainebleau, granted “exceptional market” status by the National Council for Culinary Arts in 1996, is a must on any trip to the city. Every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday morning, gourmets looking for quality products can peruse the aisles in search of ingredients for their next dishes. You can also make up a succulent picnic full of local produce and take it with you to the nearby Forêt de Fontainebleau.
