Description
Who said that enjoying a nice dessert had to be a selfish indulgence? On the contrary, Yann Menguy has generous soul. He has chosen to settle at the foot of the Montmartre hill, near the Sacré-Coeur, the emblem of working-class Paris.
The young pastry chef loves this area so much that he chose to name his shop after the neighbouring area Goutte-d’Or, one of the most multicultural in the city. The shop, which opened in 2016, was an instant hit, and it shows no sign of slowing down.
Early in the morning, people stop by to pick up fragrant pastries fresh out of the oven; a bit later, they stop by to sip coffee at the counter or in the friendly coffee shop area; after school, it’s the kids’ turn to choose a snack…
And at any time, it is an endless parade of food lovers, whether regulars or those stumbling upon it, who drop in to buy cakes, cookies, chocolates or pralines, and other very generous desserts. So good!
