Description

At the sight of the old Récollets convent, there’s only one thing anyone wants to do: visit Café A, tucked away inside. The graffiti all over the walls and polished concrete floor and stools make the place modern in its own, unique way. But the best is saved for when you get to the courtyard terrace, which is a haven of shady calm under trees filled with birdsong.

These peaceful surroundings are the perfect spot to enjoy a daytime menu of fresh, seasonal produce. From vegetarian maki rolls and soup to risottos made with watercress, broccoli, radish and turnips, dishes are always super colourful and perfectly prepared. An absolute treat both to look at and eat!

After dark, Café A transforms into a lively venue, with a schedule of mainly Cuban live entertainment. It’s a great place to enjoy a cocktail and order some tapas to share during the long, mellow summer evenings. Don't miss the gay Sunday nights to end the weekend well!

Sampling their brunch menu with family or friends is also a must: it’s served every weekend, there are plenty of both sweet and savoury options, and the names alone – hummus with a delicious pomegranate, coriander and sesame sauce, or fruit salad with fresh mint and a gingerbread crumble – are enough to make your mouth water. Bon appétit!
